Mountain Pose or Urhva Mukha Svanasa

This is a wonderful pose to increase strength and flexibility. It is perfect for when you’re looking to set aside time for yourself and really focus on the movement of your body. As you hold the mountain pose, you’ll feel stretching in your spine and the full extension of your arms and neck.

  1. From your hands and knees, spread your fingers out and press your hands down into the floor, shoulder-width apart.

  2. Straighten your knees a little bit and tilt your tail up and back. If your legs feel tight, take turns bending one knee while sending the heel of the other foot toward the floor and then switch to the other side. When you’re fully engaged in the pose, your body will make an inverted V-shape or mountain.
